1. Who We Are
LODE (formerly APX Gym) is operated by CLAD Ventures LLC, an Indiana limited liability company ("we," "our," or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the LODE app for iPhone and Apple Watch (the "App") collects, how we use and share it, where it's stored, and the choices you have.
It also covers our website at lode-strength.clad-ventures.com and our support and legal pages. Our websites don't use cookies, analytics or tracking. They're hosted on Amazon Web Services, which may keep standard access logs (IP address, time, page requested, browser details and referring page) for security and operations.
Questions can be sent to info@clad-ventures.com.
Our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy explains how we handle consumer health data in more detail, as required by some U.S. states.
2. Age Requirement
The App is only for people 18 or older, and you must confirm that you are 18 or older before using it. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
If you tell the App you are under 18, or enter a birthday showing you are, the App deletes your account, your data in our cloud store and the data on your device, and stops working for you. If you believe someone under 18 has given us information, contact us at info@clad-ventures.com and we will delete it.
3. Information We Collect
3.1 Account information
You can use the App without an account (guest mode). If you create an account or sign in, you do so through our sign-in provider, Clerk, using email and password, Sign in with Apple, or Sign in with Google.
Clerk processes the information needed to create and secure your account: your email address, your name as provided by your sign-in method, an account identifier, and security information such as sign-in times and device and network details. We receive your account identifier and, where available, your name, which the App may use to fill in your profile.
3.2 Profile information you choose to provide
- Name and profile photo (optional).
- Birthday or age (optional). If you enter a birthday, the App uses it to confirm you are 18 or older and to estimate a maximum heart rate for heart-rate zones.
- Height, body weight, and a body type used only to choose which body figure the App draws (all optional).
- Training goal, target muscle areas, weekly session and volume goals, and workout reminder days and times.
- App preferences, such as units, theme, rest timers, haptics, and Live Activity and Health settings.
3.3 Workout information
Workout templates and plans, scheduled workouts, completed sessions, exercises, sets, reps, weights, rest times, durations, timestamps, the effort rating you give a workout (1 to 5), the body weight recorded with a workout, notes, custom exercises, favorites and folders.
The App also derives information from your workouts, such as estimated one-rep maxes, personal records, training volume, muscle balance, effort scores and streaks.
3.4 Spotter information
Spotter is an optional feature that builds workouts and plans. If you use it, the App stores what you give it and what it makes for you:
- Your Spotter setup: goal, experience level, available equipment, session length, days per week, muscles you want to train, exercises you dislike, and any free-text notes.
- Joints or movements you want to avoid, such as a knee or lower back. This is health information. It's optional, and you can edit or clear it at any time.
- The workouts and plans Spotter generates, your choices while planning, and any planning conversation text.
- What Spotter learns from your edits. If you remove or swap out an exercise twice, Spotter stops suggesting it, and exercises you ask for are favored. The App stores these counts with your data.
3.5 Health and fitness information
If you turn on Apple Health access, the App can, with your permission:
- Read from Apple Health: workouts, heart rate, active energy burned, and body weight.
- Write to Apple Health: workouts you complete, with the active energy burned. Workouts you discard are not saved to Apple Health.
During a workout, the App can record your heart rate from an Apple Watch. On iOS 26 or later, it can also record heart rate from compatible AirPods, Powerbeats or Bluetooth heart-rate monitors connected through Apple Health. These readings are saved with that workout, together with your average heart rate and effort score. Active energy is shown on screen but not saved in your workout records.
If you allow it, your most recent Apple Health body weight can update the body weight in your profile. Apple Health access is off by default, and you can change or revoke it at any time in the Health app or iOS Settings.
3.6 Apple Watch information
If you use the Apple Watch app, workout details (the current exercise, targets, rest timers and logged sets) and heart-rate readings pass between your iPhone and your Apple Watch using Apple's WatchConnectivity. The watch keeps a local copy of your workout list so you can start a workout when your iPhone is out of range.
3.7 Purchase information
Apple sells and bills subscriptions through the App Store. We do not receive your payment card or billing details. The App receives information from Apple about whether you have an active subscription, which product you bought, and whether an introductory offer applies, so it can unlock Premium features.
3.8 Consent records
When you accept our Terms and this Privacy Policy, or make a choice about health data, the App records your account identifier, what you decided, the document versions you saw, your confirmation that you are 18 or older, the App version and the time. If you're offline, the App sends the record when you reconnect. We keep these records as proof of what you agreed to (Section 9).
3.9 Communications
If you contact us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in your message.
3.10 Information we do not collect
The App does not use analytics, crash-reporting, advertising or attribution tools, and it does not track you across other companies' apps or websites. It does not access your location, contacts, camera, microphone or advertising identifier.
The App accesses your photo library only when you choose a photo, such as a profile photo or a share-card background, and only the photo you pick. Saving a share card to Photos uses add-only access.
Because we do not track users across sites or apps, the App and our websites don't respond differently to "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control signals. We treat everyone as having opted out of the sale or sharing of their information.
4. Spotter and On-Device AI
Spotter builds workouts with a rules-based engine and the language model built into your device by Apple. It requires iOS 26 or later with Apple Intelligence turned on. All Spotter generation runs on your device.
Your Spotter inputs, conversations and workout history are not sent to us or to any AI provider to generate a workout, and we do not use them to train any AI model. Spotter information is stored like the rest of your workout data: on your device and, if you're signed in, in our cloud store (Section 6), subject to your health-data choice (Section 5).
Information about joints or movements to avoid is used only to leave out or de-prioritize exercises. No person reviews it, and it is not a medical assessment.
5. How We Treat Health Information
Health information in the App means heart-rate readings, body weight (in your profile and recorded with workouts), and the joint or injury details and notes you give Spotter. We use it only to provide the App's features to you: logging and displaying your workouts, heart-rate charts and zones, effort scores, body-weight trends and Spotter suggestions.
- Your consent comes first. When you sign in, the App asks whether we may store your health information in our cloud store. If you agree, it syncs with the rest of your data. If you choose "Not Now," everything keeps working, but that information stays on your phone and is left out of your cloud copy.
- You can change your mind. You can withdraw consent at any time in Settings > Data & Privacy. The App then removes that information from our cloud store and keeps it on your phone only. Turning sync back on asks for your consent again.
- Guests are never asked. In guest mode, health information never leaves your device.
- We don't use it for advertising or marketing, and we don't sell it.
- We share it only with the service providers that store it for us (Section 7), or as required by law.
- Apple Health records stay on your device. Workouts, body-weight history and other records the App reads from Apple Health for display are not uploaded. We do not store health information in iCloud.
Our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy gives more detail and explains your rights.
6. Where Your Information Is Stored
6.1 On your device
The App keeps your data in a file on your iPhone, along with up to five automatic backup copies made before a cloud sync or a restore replaces your data. Your settings and acceptance records are also stored on your device. Clerk keeps your sign-in session in the iOS Keychain. The Apple Watch app keeps its own copy of your workout list.
6.2 In our cloud store (signed-in users only)
When you're signed in, the App syncs your App data, including your profile, workouts and Spotter data, to our cloud store so it's available when you sign in on another device. Health information syncs only with your consent (Section 5).
The store is hosted by Supabase on Amazon Web Services in the United States (Oregon). Data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS and protected at rest by our hosting providers. We do not write the contents of your data to our logs.
There is no setting to turn off cloud sync while you're signed in. If you don't want your data in our cloud store, use the App in guest mode.
If you sign in to a different account on the same device, the App asks before importing the other account's records into it.
6.3 Where we operate
We are based in the United States, and your information is stored and processed there.
7. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted or cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only as follows:
- Service providers that process data on our behalf to run the App: Clerk (sign-in and account management), Supabase (cloud storage and sync), and Amazon Web Services (infrastructure used by Supabase and to host our websites). They may use your information only to provide their services to us.
- Apple, as needed to provide App Store purchases, Apple Health, Apple Watch, Siri and Shortcuts, notifications and Live Activities, subject to Apple's privacy policy and your device settings.
- People you choose to share with. If you share a workout card, a plan or an exported file, it goes to the apps and people you pick through the iOS share sheet. Workout cards can include your workout name, date, duration, volume, sets, reps, average heart rate, personal records and any photo you add.
- Legal and safety reasons, if we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law or legal process, or is needed to protect the rights, property or safety of our users, the public or us.
- Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets, your information may transfer under this Privacy Policy or one at least as protective.
8. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Provide the App: log and display workouts, run timers, sync your data between your iPhone, your Apple Watch and our cloud store, and show Live Activities, reminders and Siri responses.
- Calculate progress, insights, heart-rate zones, effort scores and suggestions, and run Spotter on your device.
- Create and secure your account, verify your subscription, confirm your age, and keep records of your consent.
- Respond to support requests.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, secure and improve the App.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
9. How Long We Keep Information
- Signed-in users: we keep your synced data while your account exists.
- Guest users: data stays on your device until you delete it or remove the App.
- Consent records: we keep records of what you accepted, and when, even after you delete your account, as proof of your agreement. They contain your account identifier, your decisions, document versions, App version and timestamps, but none of your workout or health data.
- Provider logs and backups: our cloud provider keeps operational logs for up to 90 days and daily backups for 7 days, then deletes them.
- Legal needs: we may keep limited information longer where the law requires it or to resolve disputes.
10. Your Choices and Controls
- Guest mode: use the App without an account and without cloud sync.
- Health data consent: agree, decline or withdraw at any time in Settings > Data & Privacy (Section 5).
- Apple Health: grant, limit or revoke access in the Health app or iOS Settings.
- Live Activities: on by default. During a workout, your Lock Screen and Dynamic Island can show the current exercise, set, target weight and reps, last time's numbers, the rest timer and your heart rate. Anyone who can see your phone can see them. You can also log a set, adjust rest or skip rest from the Lock Screen without unlocking. You can turn Live Activities off in the App's settings.
- Notifications: workout reminders and rest alerts can be turned on or off in the App or in iOS Settings.
- Siri and Shortcuts: "Check Training Status" tells you this week's workouts and volume. It works only when your iPhone is unlocked.
- Spotter: edit or clear your Spotter setup, notes and joint information in the App.
- Export: export your data from Settings as a JSON file (everything) or a CSV file (your sets), then share or save it where you choose.
- Delete app data: erase your data from your devices and from our cloud store, while keeping your account.
- Delete account: permanently delete your account and data (Section 11).
11. Deleting Your Data and Account
You can delete your account in the App's Settings. When you do:
- Your stored record, including your profile, workouts, Spotter data and any synced health information, is deleted from our cloud store.
- Your Clerk account is deleted.
- The App erases its data from the device where you delete your account, including its automatic backup copies, and signs you out.
If the App can't reach our cloud store during deletion, we delete your cloud record automatically once your account deletion is confirmed. You can also contact us at info@clad-ventures.com.
A few things are outside the App's reach:
- Workouts the App saved to Apple Health stay there until you delete them in the Health app.
- Files you exported or shared are controlled by wherever you sent them.
- Your other signed-in devices erase their copies, and clear the workout list on a paired Apple Watch, the next time they sync or open the App. A device running an older version of the App erases its copy once it's updated.
- Copies in our provider's logs and backups are deleted on their regular cycles: up to 90 days for logs and 7 days for backups.
- Consent records are kept as described in Section 9.
12. Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information. These include encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), verified sign-in tokens so each account can reach only its own data, and restricted administrative access at our providers. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
13. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- access, correct or delete your personal information, or receive a portable copy of it;
- opt out of certain processing;
- withdraw consent;
- appeal our decision on a request.
You can do many of these yourself in the App (Section 10). For anything else, email info@clad-ventures.com. We will verify your request using information associated with your account and respond within the time the law requires, generally 45 days. You may use an authorized agent where the law allows. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
We do not sell or share personal information as U.S. state privacy laws define those terms. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision. If we deny your appeal, you may contact your state attorney general.
The App is not offered in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland. If you live there and created an account before then, CLAD Ventures LLC is the controller of your personal data. We process it to perform our contract with you and, for health information, with your consent. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. When we do, we will change the date above. For material changes, we will notify you in the App and, where the law requires, ask for your consent again before the change applies to you.
